Solent Business School undergraduate profits from professional mentoring with ThinkEngine’s Managing Director, and embarks on a startup business dream with external funding already received!



We are thrilled to announce that after a six-month successful structured mentoring and support programme with ThinkEngine’s Ben Michaelis, Solent Business School undergraduate, Keanna Lawrence has begun the steps towards a dream of setting up a start-up recruitment and technology business when her university course ends in May.


Keanna’s outstanding drive and determination have seen her kick-start the foundations for a budding recruitment and technology business fueled by industry experiences and values. With the support of the professional mentoring programme, and helped by Ben’s desire to support aspiring undergraduates get their ideas off the ground, Keanna has been able to successfully access, apply and interview for startup funding from a major commercial lender. Remarkably, this application has now been accepted and the funding is already in the bank in readiness for the business launch next month. Key to the success of this mentoring programme is the individual’s willingness to improve and refine the business model, values and technology. Through frequent mentoring sessions, Keanna has been able to build the commercial framework ready to make its mark in the industry with a clear ‘Why?’ factor and USP.
