We recently had the pleasure of hosting Adam Peers, a first-year A-Level student, for a three-day intensive work experience placement here at ThinkEngine. Adam got a true "behind-the-scenes" look at the business and agency world, diving into a variety of hands-on projects. Adam wrote a summary of his time at ThinkEngine and what he learnt:
My name is Adam, and I am currently a student based in Ascot studying A level Business, Economics and Geography. If you asked me where I see myself in a few years it would likely be studying a degree in relation to business. I have recently just attended a 3 day work experience placement with ThinkEngine.

I wanted to do work experience with ThinkEngine as I wanted to explore the daily role of individuals working within a business and learn what they do on a day to day basis along with the challenges the team face within their role. From this work experience with ThinkEngine I have learnt a range of skills: such as using Wix to develop a website for my CV from scratch and using Base44 to understand how AI is a useful generative tool that can be used to remodel and create websites for businesses.
Furthermore, during my time with ThinkEngine I was lucky enough to see the day to day operations during a launch of a new partnership and how posts are both designed and launched in unison. This included being taught about how graphic and video design platforms can be used for articles/posts and the importance of maintaining a consistent brand throughout a company's accounts. Additionally, I was taught an overview of ThinkEngine use SEO for their clients and how it works/what it involves.
These skills have given me firsthand knowledge of how modern businesses actually operate. Seeing a live partnership launch allowed me to observe how strategy and collaboration come together in the real business world; a crucial advantage in whatever business related degree I go on to study in the future. Furthermore, the skill of being able to design websites and use AI effectively is key to the direction business is moving in and will give me a skillset desirable to future employers in any sector as the adoption of AI becomes essential across all sectors.
Understanding the importance of branding will help me move forward with my own professional personal brand in the future too where ensuring my image is consistent can help me build trust and credibility for future employers.
